DESIGNER NAME: Alice Walsh

BACKGROUND: Walsh is from the UK and attended Nottingham Trent University where she studied Furniture and Product Design. She has worked for companies such as Tom Dixon, Habitat and Conran and freelanced for clients including DeBeers, British Airways and Red Bull.

TRADEMARK PIECE: “The clean honest aesthetic is the Alice Made This trademark. The cufflinks reflect how they are made through their materials and their form.”

THE COLLECTION: “The sun, the sand, the sea and the art of rope work! I am launching a full range of rope work cufflinks developed with a master rope maker on the East Anglian coast in the UK. Inspired by marine stopper knots, we have applied this historical technique to the cufflinks and developed collection of shapes and colours inspired by this craft.”

IMPACT OF LONDON COLLECTIONS: MEN: “It was my first show last season and it was a great opportunity to come face to face with buyers, press and my contemporaries.”

FIRST PIECE OF MENSWEAR DESIGNED: “For menswear, a gentlemen's valet, but of menswear... my journey starts with the cufflink."
